MEXICO CITY
THE BASICS
Mexico City, colloquially known as CDMX, is the largest bustling metropolis in Mexico, and is a lively, artistic, and cultural hub known for unbeatable cuisine and fantastic art.
When to go
When it comes to temperature, Mexico City is actually fantastic to visit almost year-round, depending on how crowded you want to experience it. I personally visited at the end of May, and while it was warmer it wasn’t stifling hot or overly crowded.
What to do
- Explore the Museums: My favorite museums were the Frida Kahlo Museum and the Luis Barragan House & Studio, who is a famous architect who lived and worked in Mexico City.
- Eat, eat, eat: Mexico City is known for its outstanding cuisine, so while you’re there, dig in! Try out all of the different flavors and cocktails the city has to offer.
- Visit the Ancient Pyramids: The ancient pyramids of Teotihuacan, located about an hour north of Mexico City, are a must-visit on your trip to the region. Better yet, ride over them in a hot air balloon at sunrise to get a unique perspective on the landmark.
