CUBA
THE BASICS
Cuba was my first Caribbean travel destination and one of the most lively and interesting countries I’ve ever been to. Throughout my 10 days exploring Cuba, including Havana, the countryside where tobacco is grown and cigars are rolled, and the pristine white sand beaches to the north, I was constantly awestruck by the kindness of the Cuban people. When to go
The rainy season in Cuba extends from late spring (around May) through late fall (around November), so the best times to travel are in the early winter months. I personally opted for April and was able to escape with only a few rain-filled days.
What to do
- Roll Cigars: You can’t leave Cuba without rolling and smoking your own Cuban cigar. Head to the countryside farms to learn more about the farming techniques and get your hands on your very own Cuban cigar.
- Salsa Dance: No matter where you are in Cuba, it will always be easy to find a place to salsa dance at night. Break out your dancing shoes for a salsa dancing class to freshen up your skills.
