THE 8 BEST HIKES IN UTAH
Southern Utah is full of national parks, and these national parks are full of amazing hikes. Check out some of my favorite hikes throughout Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches National Parks.
Looking for more details on how to spend your time in these parks? Check out the guides below for comprehensive details on each park:
THE NARROWS
The Narrows, in Zion National Park, was my favorite “hike” of our Utah trip. I’ve been to rivers before but never has anyone recommended that I put on some waterproof boots and hike through it. Well, that’s exactly what The Narrows is. Unlike the rest of the hikes on this list, it’s completely flat, but the rocks and wading through cold water make it no less of a trek.
CANYON OVERLOOK TRAIL
The shortest hike in our 8-day journey was Canyon Overlook Trail. Don’t discount it, though, this 1-miler brings you out to some of the best views in all of Zion.
ANGEL’S LANDING
Angel’s Landing, the most popular hike in Zion National Park, takes you up into the middle of the canyon, so you’re surrounded by dozens of red-orange cliff-sides. Once you reach the top, you are guided to a chain rope that is used to keep you steady as you climb to Angel’s Landing: the tallest cliff in the middle of the canyon for a 360-degree view of Zion National Park.
FAIRYLAND LOOP TRAIL
WALL STREET
QUEEN’S GARDEN LOOP
Queen’s Garden Loop, which we entered through Wall Street, is a winding trail through the canyon, similar to Fairyland Loop. Panoramic views of the hoodoos will surround you the entire way through and the terrain is easy enough to take the whole family on.
DELICATE ARCH
The quick 3-mile hike to and from Delicate Arch is the perfect sunrise hike to start your day with. While it’s an easy hike, at one point you hike up over a large and fairly steep boulder, so be sure to keep your hiking boots on as you traverse this terrain.
DEVIL’S GARDEN WITH 7 ARCHES
Devil’s Garden Loop with Seven Arches is the longest and best hike in Arches National Park. Based on its name, you can gather that it takes you by the 7 most astonishing arches in Moab, UT, and takes you through a fairly easy hike while you’re at it.
